One of the reasons we work in agriculture is that the sector sits at the intersection of some of our most fundamental challenges: feeding people, restoring soils, and sustaining ecosystems, yet it is held back by deep, systemic inefficiencies.

After reading the report by Greenpeace Africa, it’s clear that in the pursuit of higher yields, we are putting safe food, soil health, and biodiversity at risk. At the same time, with up to 40% post-harvest loss, the real constraint isn’t just how much we produce, it’s how well we preserve, manage, and deliver quality food.

Addressing this requires both commercially viable, scalable solutions and insights to flow across the chain, and strategic collaboration. At SokoFresh, we are building critical supply chain infrastructure and digital rails that complement other AgTech innovations while helping to drive broader system change toward safer, more efficient, and more resilient food systems.

We integrate cold storage warehousing, farm-to-market traceability, proactive MRL testing, and Farmer feedback through SMS and in-person feedback forums. The goal is to ensure prudent production, market information, and feedback flow to farmers, safe and sufficient food for all.

By combining traceability, MRL testing, and real-time farmer insights, SokoFresh can actively manage pesticide risk—routing compliant produce to domestic and international markets while helping farmers continuously improve. The future of African agriculture isn’t just higher yields, it’s trusted, safe, and traceable supply chains.
